What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device; computer, phone, or tablet, when you visit a website or use a web application. Kira also uses related technologies such as local storage, pixels, and software development kits (SDKs). We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" throughout this policy.
Cookies allow the platform to recognize your device between visits, keep you securely signed in, remember choices you have made, and measure how the product is performing so we can continue improving it. Without cookies, basic things like staying logged in between pages simply would not work.
First-Party and Third-Party Cookies
Not all cookies come from the same place, and it is worth understanding the difference.
First-party cookies are set directly by Kira and used only by us; for things like keeping you signed in, securing your session, or remembering your interface preferences. These are entirely within our control.
Third-party cookies are set by trusted external providers who help us operate the platform. Currently, these are limited to infrastructure hosting through Amazon Web Services and payment processing through Stripe. We do not use third-party cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind. Every third-party provider is contractually restricted to using this data solely on our behalf and in line with our Privacy Policy, they cannot use it for their own purposes.
How Kira Uses Cookies
We use cookies for a limited and specific set of purposes. We do not use cookies to read, access, or process the content you create inside Kira — including your emails, documents, notes, or call transcripts. That content is governed by our Privacy Policy, not this one.

Authentication & Session Security
Cookies keep you securely signed in and protect your session from misuse or unauthorized access. If a strictly necessary cookie is cleared mid-session, you will be signed out immediately. Any unsaved draft in Email Agent or an in-progress call configuration may be lost as a result, so we recommend saving important work before clearing cookies manually.
Interface Preferences
We remember your settings; dark mode, sidebar state, language preference, and similar choices, so that switching devices or clearing your cache does not force you to reconfigure everything from scratch every time you return.
Feature Usage & Performance Measurement
We measure how features are used and how the platform is performing so we can make informed decisions about where to improve. This data is always aggregated and never tied back to your individual account when used for product decisions. We are looking at patterns across many users, not tracking what one specific person does.
Fraud Detection & Security
We treat fraud and abuse detection as its own dedicated category because it relies on specific signals, device and browser behavior, anomaly markers, collected for that purpose alone, rather than being bundled into general session management. This distinction matters for transparency.

A Note on Multiple Devices and Private Browsing
Cookies are tied to a specific browser on a specific device — not to your Kira account itself. If you use Kira on both your phone and your laptop, each device gets its own independent set of cookies. Clearing cookies on one device has no effect on any other.
If you use a private or incognito browser window, cookies set during that session are automatically deleted when you close the window. This can be useful for a one-off session, but it also means Kira will not remember your preferences or keep you signed in between visits in that mode. Every private session starts completely fresh.
Managing Your Preferences
You are in control of your cookie settings, and not just on your first visit. You can update your preferences at any time through Cookie Settings in your account privacy settings, or through the cookie banner that appears when you first arrive on the platform.
You can also block or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Here is how to do it in the most common browsers:

Keep in mind that strictly necessary cookies are required for the platform to function. Disabling them will prevent you from signing in and using Kira.
Global Privacy Control and Your Right to Opt Out
Where required by applicable law, Kira treats a browser-based Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. If your browser sends a GPC signal, that opt-out applies automatically in jurisdictions where it is legally required, no additional action needed from you.
California Residents — CCPA Notice
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We may update this Cookie Policy as our technology, services, and legal obligations evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly within the product.
