Trust at Kira

When you hand an AI assistant access to your email, your calls, your documents, and your decisions, trust is not a feature you can bolt on at the end. It is the entire foundation the product is built on. This page brings everything together in one place so you never have to hunt across separate pages to understand how Kira protects your data, keeps the platform running, meets its legal obligations, and thinks about building AI that genuinely works in your corner.

Security That Works in Layers

Good security is not a single lock on a single door. It is a layered system where each level addresses a different kind of risk, so that if one layer is ever tested, the others are already holding firm behind it. At Kira, security operates across three distinct layers, each one covering a part of the picture the others do not.

Product Security

At the product level, Kira encrypts all data in transit and at rest. Every piece of information moving through the platform and every piece sitting in storage is protected. More importantly, Kira is designed so that no high stakes action, whether that is sending an email, scheduling a meeting, or completing a payment, ever executes without your explicit approval first. The AI prepares, suggests, and assists. You are always the one who decides.

Operational Security

Internally, we operate on a strict least privilege model. Every member of the Kira team has access only to what they genuinely need to do their specific job, and nothing beyond that. Every access event is logged, role based controls are enforced across the organization, and access to your data is never casual, informal, or left to individual discretion. If someone on our team does not need to see something to serve you, they do not see it.

Infrastructure Security

Everything runs on AWS, one of the most resilient and battle tested cloud environments available anywhere. Our production environment is fully isolated from our development environment, which means internal testing and experimentation never touches live user data under any circumstances. Continuous monitoring watches for anything unusual around the clock, not on a periodic schedule, but constantly and in real time.

For a deeper technical breakdown of how these layers work together, visit our Security and Compliance page.

Your Data Belongs to You

This is not a nuanced point with caveats buried in the footnotes. You own your content. Always, completely, and without exception.

Kira does not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your content to train our AI models unless you have explicitly opted in to that, and we never train on Business Customer content under any circumstances regardless of any other setting. The only data we collect is what is genuinely necessary to run and improve the platform: your email address and contact number. That is it. Nothing is collected for its own sake, and nothing is collected to be monetized.

Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how long we keep it, written in plain language rather than the kind of legal fog that technically says everything while actually communicating nothing.

Compliance

We align our security program with globally recognized frameworks including SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and we actively support user rights under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA. Compliance at Kira is not a badge we earned once and then stopped thinking about. It is an ongoing operational commitment that is built into how we work every single day, reviewed continuously rather than dusted off once a year ahead of an audit.

Eligible customers can request the following documentation directly from our team at any time:

  • Security overview documentation
  • Sub-processor list
  • Compliance attestations
  • Data Processing Addendum (DPA)

To request any of these, reach out to support@kiraai.ai or support@kiraai.ai and we will respond with the relevant materials based on your plan.

Reliability You Can Actually Measure

An uptime percentage displayed on a status page is only as meaningful as the process sitting behind it. Anyone can publish a number. What matters is what actually happens when something goes wrong at an inconvenient time.

Kira is built on resilient cloud infrastructure with automated backups and a high availability architecture, which means a single component failing does not cascade into the whole platform going down. We maintain a fully tested incident response plan alongside a 24 hour, 7 day a week on call rotation. A problem that surfaces at 2am on a Sunday gets addressed at 2am on a Sunday, not when someone clocks in Monday morning.

Eligible plans include a Service Level Agreement with defined uptime targets. Real numbers you can reference and hold us accountable to, not a vague general assurance that things will probably be fine most of the time.

You can check live operational status and review the full incident history on our status page at any point. Transparency about how the platform is performing is not something we reserve for when things are going well.

Responsible AI

Kira's agents are built to assist, not to act unilaterally on your behalf. Before any consequential action is taken, whether that is sending a message, booking a meeting, making a call, or executing a task, the platform requires your explicit approval. This is not a policy statement we wrote and filed away somewhere. It is a description of how the product actually behaves in practice, every time.

Our Usage Policy sets clear and enforceable rules for the safe and lawful use of Kira's agents and automations. Those rules include requirements for human oversight on high stakes decisions and full transparency whenever people are interacting with an AI system. We believe AI should expand what you are capable of doing, not quietly replace the judgment and accountability that should stay with you.

Responsible Disclosure

Security research makes the broader internet safer for everyone, and we genuinely welcome it. If you believe you have identified a vulnerability in the Kira platform, please send a report to support@kiraai.ai. We will acknowledge your report promptly, treat it seriously, and commit to not taking legal action against researchers who are acting in good faith and operating within our responsible disclosure guidelines.

If you find something, we want to know about it. Responsible disclosure is a collaboration, and we approach it that way.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions.

Eligible customers can request our security overview, sub-processor list, compliance attestations, and Data Processing Addendum by emailing support@kiraai.ai or support@kiraai.ai. We will respond with the relevant documentation based on your current plan.

No. We do not train our models on your content unless you have explicitly opted in. We never train on Business Customer content under any circumstances, regardless of any other account settings.

Product security is about how Kira itself behaves, requiring your approval before taking any consequential action. Operational security is about how our internal team accesses your data, governed by least privilege access controls and comprehensive logging. Infrastructure security is the foundation underneath everything, covering our cloud environment, the isolation between environments, and continuous real time monitoring. Together, these three layers address the full picture rather than leaving gaps between them.

We publish live operational status and full incident history on our status page. If an incident affects your data specifically, we will notify you directly rather than leaving you to discover it yourself.

We align with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 for security, and we actively support user rights under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA for privacy. This is an ongoing, actively maintained program, not a one time certification that sits on a shelf.

Our 24 hour on call team responds immediately regardless of when the incident occurs. We follow a tested incident response plan, work to contain the issue, investigate the root cause, and notify affected customers as required by both applicable law and our own commitment to transparency. You will not be left in the dark while we quietly work through something that affects you.
