Usage Policy

Kira is built to give you real control over your work. This policy explains how to use that power responsibly. It applies to everyone who uses Kira, including its AI agents, automations, and integrations.

Effective June 1, 2026Last updated June 2026

Our Approach

We built Kira to give people genuine autonomy over their coordination work, and we want as much of that freedom preserved as possible. But an AI assistant that can send emails, place calls, and take action across your tools carries real responsibility, both to you and to the people on the other end of those actions.

This policy draws a clear line: broad freedom to use Kira however it serves you, with firm limits where use could harm people, deceive them, or put them at risk. Most users will never come close to those limits. But they exist, they matter, and they apply to everyone equally.

Who This Applies To

This Usage Policy applies to every person who uses Kira and every feature the platform includes, from the Email Agent and AI Call Agents to connected integrations like Gmail, Slack, Outlook, and Zoom. It applies whether you are using Kira directly through the platform, through the API, or through a connected messaging channel.

You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including the actions your agents and automations take on your behalf. If you set something in motion through Kira, it falls under your responsibility.

Protecting People

The following uses are not permitted under any circumstances. You may not use Kira, or allow anyone using your account to use Kira, to:

Child Safety

Endanger the safety of children in any way, including producing, soliciting, or distributing child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualizes minors. This is an absolute line with no exceptions.

Weapons and Illegal Goods

Create, obtain, or facilitate access to weapons, controlled substances, or other highly regulated or illegal goods and services, regardless of how the request is framed.

Cyberattacks and Infrastructure Threats

Compromise critical infrastructure, develop malware, or carry out unauthorized intrusion, denial of service attacks, or any other form of cyberattack against individuals, organizations, or systems.

Privacy Violations and Impersonation

Violate the privacy or rights of others, including harvesting personal data without a lawful basis, conducting unlawful surveillance, or impersonating a real person or organization in a way that could mislead or harm others.

Disinformation and Fraud

Generate or spread disinformation, fraudulent content, or deceptive schemes such as phishing, scams, fake reviews, or misleading marketing materials designed to deceive people.

Harassment and Hate

Produce content that harasses, defames, or incites violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics including race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Spam and Unsolicited Outreach

Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or automated communications that violate anti-spam, telemarketing, or consumer protection laws in any jurisdiction.

Financial Crime

Engage in fraud, money laundering, or any other form of criminal financial activity, whether directly or by using Kira as a tool to facilitate it.

Misrepresenting AI Output

Present content generated by Kira as entirely human created in situations where that misrepresentation could deceive or harm someone who is relying on it.

High Risk and High Stakes Uses

Some domains carry serious real world consequences for the people affected by decisions made within them. Using Kira in these areas is not prohibited, but it requires meaningful safeguards. These domains include law enforcement, immigration, critical infrastructure management, safety related systems, essential government or public services, employment decisions, credit and housing, insurance, healthcare, and education.

If you use Kira in any of these areas, you must:

Keep a qualified human in the loop.

A real person who understands the context must review and be accountable for any consequential decision. Kira's output should inform that decision, never replace it.

Disclose that AI is involved.

People affected by decisions in these domains have a right to know they are interacting with or being evaluated by an AI system. Be transparent about this upfront.

Do not present AI output as professional advice.

Kira can help you research and draft, but its output is not legal, medical, financial, or regulatory advice unless a licensed professional has reviewed and validated it first.

Agents, Calls, and Automated Outreach

Kira gives you the ability to run agents that send emails, place calls, and message people across connected channels. This is one of the most powerful things Kira can do, and it comes with clear rules.

When you use these features, you must:

  • Have a lawful basis for contact. Before your agent reaches out to anyone, you need a legitimate reason and, where required, explicit consent to contact that person. This applies to every recipient, not just the first one.
  • Disclose AI involvement where required. Where law or regulation requires it, you must make clear that a call or message was generated or assisted by AI. Do not obscure this.
  • Honor opt out requests promptly. If someone asks not to be contacted, that request must be respected immediately. Do not continue outreach after an opt out has been received.
  • Never impersonate real people using AI voices. Using Kira's AI call features to impersonate a real person or deceive recipients about who they are actually speaking with is not permitted under any circumstances.

Protecting the Kira Platform

A few rules exist specifically to protect the integrity of the platform itself, separate from protecting the people who use it.

You may not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying models, algorithms, or systems that power Kira. You may not programmatically extract data or output beyond what your plan and the API genuinely permit. You may not use Kira's output to build or train a competing AI product or model. And you may not attempt to bypass rate limits, safety mitigations, or any other protective measures built into the platform.

These protections exist to keep Kira working reliably for everyone, and circumventing them undermines that for all users.

Enforcement

If we determine that this policy has been violated, we will take action proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation. That may range from a formal warning to restricting specific features, suspending your account, or terminating it entirely. Serious violations, particularly those that endanger children or public safety, may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities.

We do not take enforcement action lightly. But where we have clear evidence of a violation, we will act on it.

Appeals

If you believe we have enforced this policy against you in error, you have the right to appeal. Contact us at support@kiraai.ai with your account details and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was a mistake. We review every appeal carefully and will work to correct genuine errors as quickly as possible.

Reporting Violations

If you become aware of someone using Kira in a way that violates this policy, please report it to support@kiraai.ai. We review every report and take appropriate action where a violation is confirmed. You do not need to have been directly harmed to make a report.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions.

Yes, as long as you have a lawful basis and any required consent, you honor opt out requests promptly, and your messages comply with anti-spam and consumer protection laws in every jurisdiction you are reaching into. When in doubt, check the rules that apply to your recipients, not just your own location.

Yes, within the rules above. You need permission to contact each person, you must disclose AI involvement where the law requires it, and you must respect any do not call or opt out requests without delay.

No. Kira can help you research, draft, and think through complex topics, but its output is not professional advice. For any high stakes decision in these areas, keep a qualified licensed professional involved and accountable.

No. Using Kira's output to build, improve, or train a competing AI product is not permitted under this policy or our Terms of Service.

We review every report against this policy. If we find a violation, we take action proportionate to its severity, ranging from a warning through to account termination. If you believe that action was taken in error, you can appeal at any time by contacting support@kiraai.ai.

Reach out to us at support@kiraai.ai and explain what happened. We take context into account. Accidental or good faith violations are handled differently from deliberate misuse, and we will work with you to resolve the situation fairly.
